The Social Media Massacre: To Say Good-bye

Here is the first episode of The Social Media Massacre entitled, "To Say Good-Bye". We ran entirely too short of our goal in our campaign and if you like what you see, please donate to help  us make more episodes of the show!

In Production!

Yesterday we started production on The Social Media Massacre: The Series. We had the joy and pleasure of filming an episode with the lovely and talented Valerie Meachum (www.valeriemeachum.com) and as I expected she would, she knocked it out of the park!  It's truly amazing what happens when you are able to give an actor/actress minimal direction and watch them go to work.

The episode we shot yesterday will be the second or third episode of the season, we haven't decided which just yet.  It has been far too long in between shooting for me. The last time I was on set was for the short film, and I'm still in shock of how well received that has been.

Don't forget, just because we are beginning production, doesn't mean we don't still need your help with the fund raising. So please head over to http://www.indiegogo.com/The-Social-Media-Massacre-The-Series?a=44977&i=addr and help this first season of The Social Media Massacre be the best thing ever! And you can say that you had a part in it!

Massacring Social Media, With YOUR Help!

As many of you may know, The Social Media Massacre is going to become a web series. Starting in late March, the first episode will hit your screens and to make it the best that we really can, we are asking for your help.

To the right of this post,  you can see a widget that leads you to the Indie GoGo page to help fund the web series! There are many perks for donating, from thanks via Twitter, personalized DVDs and credits in the actual show!

There are 25 days left to help out and make this a very beautiful reality. I have emptied my heart and soul into this project and I want it to see the light regardless, but I'd prefer it to look beautiful on your screens!

So head over to the widget, donate what you can, or at least share the link to your friends and as Dread Central said, Help Bring the Massacre to Social Media!

The Future of The Social Media Massacre

First and foremost I want to thank everyone for ALL the support that we have been getting in regards to The Social Media Massacre. All the feedback has been fantastic. Myself, and the cast and crew really are grateful.

Now onto my announcement. There has been a lot of talk about a feature length version of The Social Media Massacre, some of which from my own lips. I have to tell you that while at one point very recently the script was in the works, it is now off the table. Don't think that Sam is going away, because he's not.

The Social Media Massacre is the first part in a trilogy of shorts that will conclude before Halloween of 2011. Following the release of part 3 all three will come out on DVD with cool behind features. You know, like a DVD should.

Part two will come out on Valentine's Day and is tentitively titled, "A Night of Avarice"

Again, thank you all so much for all the support, we really couldn't be in the position to make ONE of these if it wasn't for you.

There have been many amazing reviews of Becoming Undead and I would just like to share some of them with you here at the Becoming Undead Films website.

“Eerie. Striking. Original”  - Marc Bartsch, STUBS
“Ron Purtee takes a bite out of the zombie genre!” - John DeVore, hack writer
“Ron Purtee accomplishes in four minutes what many full length feature films fail to do in two hours.” - PopCulureZoo.com
"very low budget, very creative, it has no talking in it at all but the music throughout the short sets everything up perfectly like something or someone's gonna reach up and grab you!" - GeekTyrant.com

I'd also like to thank Uncle Creepy over at DreadCentral.com for all of the help he has given in getting the word out about the picture. Let's hope we can get more folks to see the short and get some more amazing reviews to add here!
